Rogers is to introduce competitive BES plans on October 1st. These new plans are much cheaper than previous BES packages to say the least. See for yourselves:

The current plans for Rogers BES are $40/7MB, $45/300MB, and $100/1GB which are soooo much cheaper. It seems anything more that the new plans would be just preposterous.
There are also new Flex Rate Packages, which were only previously offered to BIS users, but will now be offered to all BES users as well.
According to Rogers, BES Flex Rates “automatically adjusts your Monthly Service Fee (MSF) based on your actual data usage. You will start each month at Tier 1. If your monthly usage exceeds 500MB, then you will move up automatically to Tier 2.” And so this continues on until you max out at Tier 5 and its 5GB of data.”

Rogers seems to be following what is becoming the standard for data packages, especially with their data spending cap. This means that the most that a customer can be charged is $100 due to a new price cap system including the MSF and other data overage charges.
Welcome to the data era.
