Bold, Bold and More Bold Updates

Ok, we are all excited here in the U.S. about the BlackBerry Bold finally arriving tomorrow nationwide in AT&T stores. I have also confirmed that Best Buy stores will be carrying it as well as BestBuy.com. I have here two ads from Best Buy, one of them from inside the store and one is a paper ad from their catalogue.
The one above is interesting because it boasts a price tag of $399.99 with a 2 year contract, regular price of $659.99, and 419.99 with a 2 year upgrade. The interesting part about it is if you look at the image below, you will see that the it shows the Bold being offered at $349.99 with a new activation for 2 years, $659.99 with no contract, and $299.99 with a new 2 year contract and a plan above $65. I asked the rep there what the deal was and she said because it is on sale. I proceeded to ask how long the sale was for, and she said for one week. Hmmm, I was weary of this of course since we know that AT&T is offering a $100 rebate for online purhcases from Nov. 2 – Dec. 25, which would make the price $299.99 as well. To take a guess, I would think that Best Buy would put this promotional price up at least as long as AT&T. Also available at Best Buy is Geek Squad phone configuration and email setup, which is free if you sign up for a new plan there or else it will cost you $29.99! Screw that, email me to help you set your phone and email up and I’ll do it for free, save your cash for your phone bill.
An interesting observation I made is that if you can tell, on the Bold ad below there is a printed our sign that says Coming Nov. 4th and it seems to be ripped off of a printed piece of paper and stuffed under the display plastic.
I am not quite sure if I’m going to make the jump to AT&T tomorrow, but for how much I loved my Bold, it has definitly got me thinking. Anyone else who is going to buy one send us your first impressions in the comments after you get it.
Below we have more ad images and the AT&T rebate form.
