8350ifail Sprint 8350i Update

So, here is the deal.  The new Curve 8350i iDEN was suppose to be released today by Sprint for online purchase only.  We heard a week ago that that date was pushed back until Dec. 15th.  A few eager readers still had hope and checked online early this morning and found nothing.  Some also called Sprint and were told, numerous things; some said Dec. 15th is still the release, some were told that Dec. 17th and even Dec. 30th!  I’m sorry to all the Sprint/Nextel customers that have been waiting so patiently for this device.  Sprint is just not doing anything for its customers these days.  And they wonder why so many customers are leaving?  You know, I wouldn’t blame any of you guys if you switched carriers.  There are many awesome BlackBerries out there that may be able to suit your needs, but if not, just wait a little longer.

For those of you reading this that aren’t with Sprint and don’t understand why this is such a huge let down, let me give you a little incite.  This isn’t just another mass produced awesome BlackBerry that the world is waiting for.  It is the first new iDEN BlackBerry since the 7100i; yeah it’s been that long.  So for those business people that rely on Sprints Direct Connect Push To Talk service, Sprint is kind of vital for them.  Sprint is the only carrier thats PTT service works without the neccessity of regular cellular reception.  Plus this is a super hot phone and all business people should have the opportunity to rock a hot BlackBerry whether they need it for the iDEN network or not.

I received a call today from the manager of my local Sprint store and the 8350i is now available for ordering!

Ive talked to sprint numerous times and either they claim they dont know anything about the phone or they tell me it "should" be released the 2nd or 3rd week in Dec. I agree with Nevada, just give us some information instead of letting everyone guess...

Enough is enough! Sprint should announce the official launch date to the public. We are all big boys, if they need to delay the launch date fine. Dont let the rumors fly. Sprint should announce the date today. Sometimes things dont go as planned and we understand that but dont leave your loyal customers hanging. I'm tired and just want my phone. Unfortunatly, I need the PTT for my business. So, I must be crazy but I'll still be waiting for the next rumored release date...

"December 15th it was pushed back due to a application missing. You will definitely see it prior to the holiday."
Quote from friend who sells Nextel/Sprint

I called Sprint yesterday 12/1 and they told me to call back on 12/15 which is the new release date. I can't believe that Sprint can't get this right. Everyone seems to be given different dates. I'll sit here & wait.

I work in the wireless construction industry and have spent many hours 200' up on a tower intergrating the Sprint/Nextel network. I have spent hours on my 7100i shooting emails providing updates on these projects. I have been following this launch date with great anticipation and I want my 8350i already!
  • WTF?
    whats your email address?
  • Sprint just seems like they are all over the place guys. I feel bad for you. You guys haven't had a new iDEN BB in years. There is a difference between the Bold set backs and the Storm set backs because we have plenty of BlackBerries to choose from. Who wants some promo shirts? Email me and I'll send some out.
  • WTF?
Well...this is truly an EPIC FAIL for Nextel...

I spoke to a rep from a Sprint store and he said they will be out "for sale" on Dec. 15 for new costumers or new line subscription. If you are already a sprint costumer and want to upgrade you will have to wait until Jan (no specific date yet). I'm starting to feel tempted to change to another carrier!

who knows it could be a soft launch tomorrow. Wouldn't that be nice.
  • WTF?
Sprint has dropped the ball on this. They have had handsets in stock since October. Just not enough to "meet demand" SOO they keep pushing the release back oping they'll get the stock. Its already out is "test markets" which is bullshit. I am still sickened by the lack of knowledge...and lack of common decency from ALL areas of support and Sprint, from CSR's and Telesales...all the way up to the Senior Analysts none of them seem to give a damn about keeping customers!!!!!

i was so looking forward to getting this phone today but if its this hot i can wait.

talked to customer service twice and both times they told me we don't know just watch the website. I called 2 stores and both said call back tomorrow to put in your order we can have it in 2-3 days . I don't know what to believe now.
