I haven’t been keeping up with the new OS upgrades for 4.5 and I apologize. There has just been so much going on with new devices it’s overwhelming! AT&T however has released OS 4.5.0.110 for the Curve 8320 and 8820. Our buddy Troy Brown over at BlackBerry News posted some sweet instructions that explains how to load the AT&T OS on any 8320 or 8820 along with links to the downloads and here they are:
8320 Users:
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.152 (Multilanguage)Package Version: 4.5.0.152
Consisting of:* Applications: 4.5.0.110
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.90
* File name: 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel152_PL2.7.0.90_A4.5.0.110_AT&T.e xe
* File size: 91.42MBhttps://www.blackberry.com/Downloads…E4F82F9F00E7D4
Instructions for installing on ANY 8320 (regardless of carrier)
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named “vendor.xml.”
3. Plug in BB and double click on “Loader.exe.” It’s located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it’s done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says “waiting for initialization.”
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.Prev. version of OS: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene…languages.html
