rogers Rogers Announces the Completion of Their 7.2mbps 3.5G Network

The next half evolution is here, not 4G quite yet, but Rogers just announced that their 3.5G 7.2mbps network upgrade is up and running across Canada.  Unfortunately there are no BlackBerry devices that can support this new upgraded network.  Rogers only has two devices that can support the 7.2mbps network which are, the LG Vu and the HTC Touch Diamond.  This will surely change as more upgrades are made to different networks and as 4G gets closer.  This new 3.5G has been operational for the past year in test markets, but has had some issues.  Apparently subscribers on Rogers have been complaining that since the launch of 3.5G, the 3G network has been less than satisfactory.  There have been more dropped calls, reception has been worse, and service tends to completely drop off at times.  In any case I’m sure now that it is officially launched, that within the next year or so it will drastically improve.  There are always issues with new networks.
