*Update: TetherBerry is Officially launched and out of beta. They are having a one time introductory fee of $39.99 until March 12th and $59.99 after, so hurry and get it now! A one time fee is definitely worth it considering tethering on carriers costs a lot extra per month. TetherBerry.com
I personally tether my BlackBerry to my laptop quite frequently. If you looked at my data usage from tethering, it would be pretty high. Luckily I have T-Mobile and don’t have to pay extra for tethering capabilities, granted I only have EDGE. All you other people that are not on T-Mobile have to pay an extra fee to be able to tether, and that just plain sucks. Well have no fear, TetherBerry is here!
Now you can connect your BlackBerry to your laptop and use your cell phone data plan to access the internet on your laptop! TetherBerry makes it easy to tether your BlackBerry to your computer, all you have to do is download the software for your computer and BlackBerry, plug it in via USB, run both programs and poof, you’re on. The great thing about TetherBerry is that it doesn’t require a tethering plan!
I have not had a chance to test this yet, but you better believe I will be this week, on multiple carriers. I will have a review of it out soon and tell you how awesome or sucky it is, but I wouldn’t expect a sucky review. TetherBerry is currently in beta and is taking beta testers. It actually officially launches in a couple of hours, I don’t know how much this program will cost or what the structure will be like, but I will update this post today when I hear back from TetherBerry.
