Today’s tip was sent in from Mark, thanks a lot for the suggestion my friend. This was sent in as a Storm tip, to help keep the lagging to a minimum, but it will help keep all BlackBerries running at tip top speeds.
Level: Beginner
Tip of the Day #7 – How to clear your event log – This is a simple shortcut that many people do not know about. The event log is basically a log of everything you do on your BlackBerry, and the log can get very big after a while and slow down your phone. This is especially the case with the Storms, and devices with OS 4.5 and below. I recommend doing this every few days just to keep your BlackBerry at top running speed.
For the Storm:
Step 1. From the home screen, press Menu and then type / ” / ” / To do this hold the !123 (Numbers) key to lock the keyboard in numbers mode (this will be easiest if your phone is in landscape mode). This will show your event log.
Step 2. Next press Menu and then Clear Log and you are done.
For all other BlackBerry models:
Step 1. From the home screen or menu screen, press alt + LGLG. This will show your event log.
Step 2. Press Menu and then Clear Log and your event log is clear.
Thanks again for the suggestion Mark!
