With the official announcement of the Blackberry Curve 8520 (Gemini) coming yesterday we can expect more and more details in the coming days. One detail that might be the most important is the price. Thanks to Engadget we found out the Curve 8520 would release on the T-Mobile network for $129.99 with a two year contract. No big surprise here as we expected it to be less than the Tour ($199.99 with two year contract) and around $100. What is surprising is the price that Wal-Mart plans to sell it at. Word is they will sell the Curve 8520 for a bargain price of $48.88, that’s a whole $81 less than T-Mobile. So what’s the catch here? No catch really just that Wal-Mart is living up to its name.
Well there actually might be a little catch because according to VB the Gemini will not have 3G capabilities. This one is a head scratcher but when you consider the price and the built in Wi-Fi it might not be all that bad. I’ll be honest this is the first I have heard of this so maybe it’s just for the Wal-Mart version? Only time will tell but for now we are all excited to see another member of the Blackberry family.
