blackberry storm 2 reveiew BlackBerry Storm 2 Set to Release in November?

We have been hearing possible release dates for the BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) since last spring.  First it was June then August and now it appears to be November for the US.

According to TheBlackBerryZone we now have release dates for Verizon and Vodafone.  The 9520 is set to be released by Vodafone (UK) sometime in October.  In the meantime it looks like Verizon will get their model, the 9550 sometime in November.  Many have pointed to November as a legitimate release date so this all but confirms past suspicions. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on November 21st exactly one year from when the original Storm was released.  Regardless of what day it’s released we finally have a firm release date that we can expect to the see the much anticipated Storm 2.

Soon as the dates get closer I am sure many will start to bring up the debate of whether the Storm 2 will be able to compete with the iPhone.  I have said this before that you shouldn’t an expect it to be like the iPhone but more of BlackBerry touchscreen we can finally be happy with.

I am cheap with smart phones. Will Verizon (and Blackberry) allow the device to be used as a phone and pda functions only without buying an email and data plan? Can the WIFI option be used without an email and data plan?
