tmobile Havent Switched to Paperless Billing? T Mobile Will Make You Pay

It seems that T-Mobile loves the environment so much that they are going to make you pay if you don’t have paperless billing.  It would also seem like they don’t care about losing customers because this is a bad move.  TmoNews is reporting that T-Mobile will begin charging $1.50 per account on September 12th if you choose to keep paper billing.  Now T-Mobile already charges a fee if you use their detailed paper bill feature so this will just add another charge to a growing list of pointless charges.

Already low on the totem pole T-Mobile was gaining some momentum with the recent release of the BlackBerry Curve 8520.  Now they will lose everything they gained because they are about to have a bunch of pissed off customers.  Let me say that I am completely for paperless billing and helping the environment, in fact I love the idea.  The problem is you just can’t force people to do it.  I do realize that down the road paperless billing will be the only option but we are just not there yet.  In the back of my mind I have to wonder if this is just for cutting costs.  Let’s be honest they will save money and they can give you the excuse that it’s all for the environment.  This is just another instance of a carrier trying to squeeze out every last penny that you have, it needs to change.

I signed up for your one-year extended calling plan in October 2008 at a monthly cost of $19.99. If you can now change your offer to require paperless billing, to which I do not wish to subscribe, then I should certainly be able to break my contract with you.

Now is a good time for me to drop T-Mobile. Actually, I have a couple months left until my cellphone 'contract' expires with them. Once that happens, I'll finally be switching to the iPhone. T-Mobile better be prepared to lose customers over this.

Me too. I hope others agree and dump T-Mobile. I sent them a letter of complaint. I am so angry. They force you to provide an email address and they will probably now send junk mail.

I've been a long-time customer but it is clearly time to move on.
  • It's unfortunate because they really do have some decent phones but they continue to make bad decisions.
