Nokia Wants to be BlackBerry

Nokia and Microsoft have recently joined forces and it’s no secret their goal is to take down RIM and BlackBerry. With the move Nokia will now have Microsoft software including Microsoft Office in their arsenal. It is obvious that they want a piece of the business market pie that RIM has control of.
During a recent conference call Nokia’s VP for devices Kai Oistama was quoted saying, “It’s about creating a formidable challenger to RIM than anybody else.” Which shows they know who they want to be but the challenge is how they do it. With this merger Microsoft hopes to push Microsoft Office even more as if they really need to.
In theory it is a solid plan however BlackBerry owns this market and has owned it for many years. This will also make RIM work that much harder to keep BlackBerry firmly on top, which means good news for us.
