Vlingo, the popular voice application, is now available for the BlackBerry Tour and the BlackBerry Curve 8520. Vlingo is the only way to talk to your phone and it will do almost everything for you. The application has been one of favorites for awhile now because of the way it lets you multitask and get things done that much faster. That doesn’t mean BlackBerry has made some advancements to their default voice command system. The new Tour comes equipped with it but it still isn’t on the same level as Vlingo.
Ever wanted to text while you drive? Well Vlingo is the safe way to do it. The truth is there are too many of us that do this and it really is a dangerous act. Texting and emailing is a tough habit to break and believe when I say I have had many near accidents doing it.
You can download Vlingo on their website or by visiting BlackBerry App World.
Some quick facts about Vlingo:
- You can speak things like ”dial”, “send” to accomplish your task by just pressing the side key.
- You can speak your punctuation. Just say” period” or “question mark” and the symbols will appear.
- You can open some websites but just saying “launch”? For example “launch CNN”, “launch New York Times”.
