Game On: Shake and Spell Lets BlackBerry Users Play Against iPhone Users

In what is no doubt a huge step for mobile gaming, SocialDeck has released Shake and Spell for the BlackBerry.  Shake and Spell is not your ordinary game in fact it is more than a game it’s part of what we call social gaming.  See Shake and Spell lets you play cross platform this means you can play anyone using a BlackBerry, iPhone or even Facebook at anytime.  So for example let’s say you load up the game on your BlackBerry and your buddy has it for the iPhone, you both can play each other in real time without any hiccups.  What’s cool about SocialDeck is they are developing a full line of these social games that will change the mobile gaming landscape entirely.

Shake and Spell is not new, it has been around since 2008 but only for the iPhone and Facebook.  Now that it is available for the BlackBerry the fun will really start.  The game itself is pretty simple and ordinary but it has many integrated features.  Take for example the trashtalk wall and game feed.  These little extras are displayed on all three applications at the same time.  So if you want to talk some trash to your friend using the Facebook app he will instantly see it.  Not only that but the game lets you view up to date leaderboards, has a chat feature and even has a game lobby.  This is a huge step for mobile gaming and the social experience.  Games like Shake and Spell are just the beginning and hopefully we will see some of our favorite mobile games go cross platform someday.
