Back in early July we told you about the new BlackBerry social network that was in the works. Sadly only a special few were chosen to test out the new network and work out the bugs. Finally after more than a month later, MyBlackBerry has opened up its doors for everyone to see.
Don’t expect to be blown away, after all social networks are somewhat of a norm these days. I still believe it’s a smart move by RIM and it does have some cool features and sections to play with. Expect the tips and tricks forum to be the most active, this is a great way for anyone to share their secrets with the community. The applications forum is also a must visit as it offers in depth discussion about apps not just short reviews. Other than those to sections everything else on the site we have seen before. It seems RIM is really trying to push you towards shop.blackberry.com but hey they have to promote their own.
There a plenty of sites these days that are similar to what MyBlackberry has to offer, even BerryReporter will become similar down the road with the new store and forums. The first couple of months will be key and will show us if MyBlackBerry will live on or die.
