OS Update 4.7.1.57 Released for the Sprint BlackBerry Tour

With all the recent news about the BlackBerry Storm 2 and the Bold 9700 you can see why an important OS update can get overlooked.  Over the weekend Sprint showed some love to their BlackBerry Tour users by pushing out OS 4.7.1.57.  This official update from RIM comes with some minor glitch fixes, visual voicemail enhancements and supposed better battery life.  It should also fix the Bluetooth sound quality problems that some users reported.  It was also rumored to be the update that offers better trackball responsiveness but if you are still having trackball issues I urge you to get a replacement device.

Sprint users should be able to update through Desktop Manager or by visiting blackberry.com/update from Internet Explorer.  You should know that some are experiencing problems when trying to update through that site so Desktop Manager is your best bet.  Don’t forget to back up all your data before upgrading in case you experience any issues.
