Hedone Design has released their new Halloween theme and it aims to transform your BlackBerry into one spooky scene. This latest addition from the Hedone Design team is once again filled with high quality graphics that stick out on your homescreen. It is far from ordinary and the vibrant colors and decorations scream out Halloween.
The home screen is filled with five user customizable icons that can be mixed around but the backgrounds will stay the same. As we often see in a theme by Hedone Design the signal and battery meters are hidden and take some time to notice. You’ll find them in the bottom right hand corner as the spider web represents the battery and the bats represent the signal. As you might’ve guessed the more bats you see the better your signal is and if you web is filled out that means you have full battery. Just another outside the box feature that Hedone Design is known for.
When you open up your menu screen you will notice the graveyard scene that houses your icons. Everything is laid out nicely on a hill and you’ll see that your battery and signal meters are once again present in the upper right hand corner. The mail and default app icons have been customized to go along with the Halloween style and will glow orange when you hover over them. The customization doesn’t stop there as each menu features more designs and a neatly placed pumpkin on top. There is also matching Halloween font throughout the entire theme that goes well with the style.
With so many Halloween BlackBerry themes to choose from what makes this one so different? Well as you know this is the time of year when all the major theme designers release some kind of Halloween theme for us to enjoy. Some are free and they somewhat satisfy but it’s the premium ones that really shine. The Halloween theme from Hedone Design falls somewhere near the top and its specialty is the graphics included.
It’s easy to see why this one of the best Halloween themes around, I just love the time they put into the graphics and they go well with the Halloween spirit. Some may not like that the homescreen graphics stay the same no matter what icon you choose to put there. This is not a huge drawback but it takes some time getting used to. The good thing is you can still customize them to your needs and each time you hover over them you will know what you put there. My favorite part of the theme is when you open up your menu and see all your icons. They really did a good job incorporating a graveyard setting and adding the dark orange colors to set off the scary mood.
Overall this is fine addition to the BlackBerry Halloween theme category and although it has some minor drawbacks it excels with graphics, customization and overall style. If you like what you see don’t forget that Hedone Design is running a 50% off coupon for all themes just enter in code HD50BDAY09.
