Official OS Update 5.0.0.323 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 Coming

We were hearing some rumors that OS 5.0 will first become available to BlackBerry Storm 9530 users and it appears those rumors are legit.  Engadget was able to get a screenshot of Verizon’s internal system and it shows specific details about OS (5.0.0.323).  With this update Storm owners will be able to enjoy some of the software improvements that come with the Storm 2.  Flick scrolling, keyboard improvements, threaded SMS and tabbed browsing will all be present.  If you remember this was the OS update that was leaked just days ago.  Word is the update will be available sometime tonight or by Monday morning.

There is also a new document located at BlackBerry.com that lists all the devices that will be getting an OS 5.0 update.  As suspected the cutoff point will be the Pearl 8200 series and this OS won’t support any device older than that.  This could also mean we could see OS 5.0 roll out for all these BlackBerry phones this week so get your BlackBerry Desktop Software ready.
