Boingo Wireless announced today that they are bringing their popular Boingo Mobile app to BlackBerry smartphones. Boingo Wireless offers the world’s largest network of Wi-Fi hotspots. For $7.95 a month you can get Boingo’s mobile service which includes high speed Wi-Fi access at thousands of hotspots around the world.
The Boingo Mobile BlackBerry app is available for free and it will automatically notify you when you’re in a Boingo hotspot. As of now only Curve 8900/8320 and Bold 9000 users can enjoy the app but more BlackBerry phones will be supported in the future. This type of app is made for people that travel often and want to avoid all those ridiculous roaming fees.
From the Press Release:
“Boingo Mobile is about ease of use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data,” said Jonathan Mendelson, general manager of mobile and product management. “BlackBerry users can seamlessly switch to a Boingo Wi-Fi connection when they’re online using data-intensive applications.”
