musicskins 1 300x225 Review: MusicSkins Customizable BlackBerry Skin

One of the best things about owning a BlackBerry is the many ways you can customize it.  From changing your homescreen theme to changing the color of your device there really are no limitations.  Another way to transform you BlackBerry is by using skin covers.  These are great because they aren’t permanent and they come in many different styles.

MusicSkins provides BlackBerry owners with premium customizable skins that not only protect your device but they also add style to it.  You can choose between several different music genres and artists.  They also offer custom skins which allow you to upload any picture you want by using their unique customizer tool.  MusicSkins was nice enough to give me a free review skin for my BlackBerry Tour 9630.  Those of you that know me well should know I am a big hip-hop fan so I had to get the Paul Wall skin.

When you start to pick out your first MusicSkin you will see that they have a lot of options available.  If you’re a rock fan you will have plenty of bands to choose from.  If you’re into reggae or country music there are sections for that and there is even an Obama section.  After you narrow down your selection you then choose your device model and you are ready to checkout.  The whole process is easy and it won’t take long to find a MusicSkin you like.

If for some reason you don’t like any of the skins that are available you can upload your own with the customizer tool.  This will probably be the first choice of many because you can create a skin that is unique and personal to you.  Using the tool is easy as you first choose the device size then you are ready for your picture.  It really takes BlackBerry customization to a whole new level and you will love showing off your new skin.

As for my Paul Wall skin I was very impressed.  I first had doubts about being able to take it off but these things are so easy to remove.  Even after you remove the skins they don’t lose any stickiness and can be put back on right away.  It really is high quality material and I was impressed with it.  After your skin is on it adds something special to your BlackBerry and you’ll want to keep it on.  MusicSkins also adds a little bit of protection as your device can withstand minor scratches and bumps.  It is by no means a replacement for a hard case but it certainly is an added bonus.

My only problem with the Paul Wall skin is it didn’t cover the whole BlackBerry.  There were too many open areas like on the top and bottom of the device.  Now taking a look at some of the other phones this looks like it only pertains to the BlackBerry Tour.  Not a huge issue but I would’ve loved to cover my whole phone in that money green color.

For the price and the amount of customization options available I would say MusicSkins is a great way to add some flavor to your BlackBerry.  They offer many different kinds of skins and the customizer tool is easy to use and creates some great custom skins.
