Just after midnight today many well known websites unleashed their BlackBerry Bold 9700 reviews. As is the case with every new BlackBerry phone we like to get a general idea of what everyone thinks of it. For the most part it seems like the new Bold 9700 is another impressive BlackBerry device and it only has some minor flaws that can easily be overlooked.
From PhoneScoop:
“The blackberry 9700 is one of those phones that gets nearly everything right and has minimal quirks or other problems. The hardware is top notch, feels great to hold and interact with, and slims down its footprint. The trade-off is that you have a tighter keyboard and a smaller display.”
From CrackBerry:

“The BlackBerry Bold 9700 embodies the spirit of what made RIM dominate the enterprise market and become the HUGE player in the smartphone market that they are today. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is the ultimate communication and productivity tool. Fast, reliable, secure. Easy to use one-handed while you’re on the go (walking or stopped at a light…not while driving of course!).”

“Anyone out there shopping for a new device or a first time BlackBerry owner will wanna give the BlackBerry Bold 9700 a look as it’s an all in one package. And while I still don’t personally feel it’s deserving of the Bold moniker, maybe it should have been released as a BlackBerry Curve revision? It still has a place among the BlackBerry family and is an exceptional device all around.”
From PCWorld: Rating 88
“The best BlackBerry available, the Bold 9700 packs a multitude of features into a sophisticated, slimmed-down design.”
“The Bold’s browser is definitely its weak spot. Because it isn’t built on WebKit, it simply doesn’t compare to the browsers on the iPhone, the Palm Pre, and Android phones. The browser will default to a mobile site when one is available, and it takes a bit of time to render a full site. That said, OS 5.0 adds some useful features, such as tabbed browsing.”
From BGR:
“You know, it’s sort of like clockwork. Once every six months we proclaim the latest BlackBerry to be the best BlackBerry ever. Well, we hate to disappoint you, but it doesn’t look like we’re stopping that tradition anytime soon. The BlackBerry Bold 9700, for whatever network it’s powered by, is the finest BlackBerry to date. From the gorgeous screen to the perfect keyboard, to the pocketable size and swift processor, the Bold 9700 seems like it can do almost anything you throw at it.”
From PC Advisor:
“A slimmer, lighter Bold than the original model, we like the substitution of the trackball for the touchpad and think this BlackBerry line remains the most appealing that RIM offers. Time will tell whether qwerty keypad fans find the BlackBerry Bold 9700’s shrunken keypad an issue, however.”
