Unlock Your Mercedes-Benz With the mbrace BlackBerry App

This is just one of those BlackBerry apps that you have to see to believe.  Certain Mercedes owners will be happy to know they can now unlock their cars through the free mbrace BlackBerry app.  Created by Hughes Telematics, mbrace will interact with your Mercedes to not only unlock and lock your doors but also locate your vehicle and contact roadside assistance.  mbrace will send a signal to your car asking for its GPS coordinates then that info will be sent back to your BlackBerry so you never have to worry about where you parked.  As far as we know this is the first application that is able to do this.

The mbrace BlackBerry app also has a handy dealer locator feature that will give you all the contact details of your local Mercedes-Benz dealership.  In order for this app to work you must first sign up for the mbrace service which is free for the first 6 months of service.  After that it is $280 per year for the basic package.  As of now the service is only available for certain Mercedes models.  mbrace is available for free in BlackBerry App World but is only compatible with older devices.  Hopefully this will change in the future as this technology continues to grow.
