screenshot 5 Detect and Remove Spyware with the Free Kisses BlackBerry AppFor the most part the BlackBerry is one of the most secure smartphones out there but that doesn’t mean it’s untouchable.  Take for instance the recent PDF flaw found on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  This critical security vulnerability was related to the BlackBerry Attachment Service and it could give a hacker unauthorized access to system information or even crash your phone.  This is not the first time we have seen vulnerabilities in the attachment service on BES and it won’t be the last.  So what about your personal BlackBerry phone how do you keep that protected?  Well for one it is important that you keep your firewall active at all times but there is now another option.

ZenConsult has developed Kisses, a free BlackBerry app that detects and removes unwanted spyware.  Kisses is a valuable utility because it also shows you a list of running and hidden processes.  This is a great way to know everything that’s going on with your BlackBerry and will help you keep it secure.  PhoneSnoop, FlexiSpy and MobileSpy are all well known spying tools that specifically threaten BlackBerry phones.  Kisses has been programmed to detect and remove all three of them.  Hackers will continue to find new ways to break into your BlackBerry so it is important you take security seriously.

The pdf distiller vulnerability affects the BES, and does not have to do with the device itself. This is a Windows and BES fault and can give unauthorized access to the host server or crash the server.
