We have seen a couple different leaks for BlackBerry Messenger lately but some of them have caused issues. That’s the thing with leaks, you never really know if they will work or not. Now BlackBerry users will be happy to know there is an official release from RIM as BBM has been updated to version (5.0.0.55). It was first leaked earlier in the day but then showed up on BlackBerry.com for download.
This new version is more of a maintenance release and it doesn’t have any significant changes. Some are saying that the file transfer feature has been improved which is a plus because it needed some work. We recommend you back up your contacts before installing. This is one of the best features of the new BBM as all you have to do is enter your email to restore all your contacts. Version 5.0.0.55 should be available shortly on BlackBerry App World but in the meantime you can download it on mobile.blackberry.com.
