Review: BlackBerry Storm2 Defender Case from OtterBox

If you love your BlackBerry as much as I do, you want to make sure that it stays protected throughout the day.  Many of you might now I am a huge fan of the cases from Otterbox. They are a great company that put out very nice cases that are affordable and worth every penny.  OtterBox was kind enough to send me a Defender Series Case for my BlackBerry Storm2 and I have to tell you guys I love this case.

When I first bought my BlackBerry Storm2 I was looking for a good screen protector for it because lets face it, no one wants their brand new BlackBerry to have a big scratch on the screen.  However when I bought a couple screen protectors I couldn’t find any that would protect the bottom four buttons ( the call, application, back and end call buttons).  With those buttons now being apart of the screen I need them protected too.  When I received the Defender Series Case for my BlackBerry Strom2 I noticed the screen protector that they included was exactly what I was looking for!

The case has three different layers of protection to it. The first layer of course is the screen protector that makes sure your screen stays safe.  The second layer is a polycarbonate shell for an added guard against drops and shocks.  Then the third layer is a silicone case that wraps around the plastic case that helps absorb the bumps and shocks.

Now some people don’t like cases because they feel that they lose functionality of the buttons on the phone or that the case interferes with speakers on the phone.  Now with the Otterbox Defender Series you have complete functionality from all the buttons on your device. The speakers don’t get blocked out either and I can hear someone on the phone just as well as I can without the case on.  The Defender Series case also comes with a holster so you can put it on your belt clip and have it on your side at all times.

With the OtterBox Defender Series Case you can feel a little more comfortable when you accidentally drop your BlackBerry device, although I don’t recommend doing it every day.
