22 300x257 BlackBerry Beats Out The I Phone Once Again!

There are a lot of people out there that aren’t big fans of the BlackBerry devices like we abusers are. They choose to be fans of the Apple’s I-phone. This has brought on the great I-Phone vs. BlackBerry debate. It has become a huge battle in the smartphone world.

There are many different models of the Blackberry. You have the Curve series which consists of the 83xx series the 8900 and the new 8520/30 series. Then you have the Blackberry Bold, Storm, Tour, and Pearl devices. As for the I-phone, you only have the 3GS and the 3G devices.

There are many people out there that wonder which smartphone is the most popular device out there. Well today the Quarter 4 results from IDC were released and the results are in RIM’s favor. Check them out.

How about these apples?

  1. 1. RIM – BlackBerry Curve
    2. Apple – iPhone 3G S
    3. Motorola – DROID
    4. Apple – iPhone 3G
    5. RIM – BlackBerry Pearl
    6. RIM – BlackBerry Bold
    7. RIM – BlackBerry Storm

    8. Palm – Pre
    9. RIM – BlackBerry Tour
    10. T-Mobile – myTouch 3G

Now just by looking at these results I have to kind of laugh at Apple because their smartphone is a touchscreen device, and its main competitor from RIM should be their touchscreen device, The BlackBerry Storm. However the I-phone is being beaten by the BlackBerry Curve series. That is, in my book, kind of embarrassing for Apple.

I also have to wonder which BlackBerry Curve device sold the most, figuring that they all are available on all the networks. It might have been the 83xx series considering that they are basically free these days and are a lot of people are being seen using them.  Hopefully for RIM sake their other devices such as the Bold, Tour, and Storm catch up to the Curve’s considering that RIM is becoming very App friendly and they are all going to be their premier devices.

Can’t wait to see what 2010 has in store for RIM!
