RIM will start producing smartphones in Brazil. It’ s important for RIM that it makes and sells the phones locally. This comes as RIM pushes into the mainstream consumer market beyond its base of business and professional customers. RIM is going to start producing the Curve 8520 in Brazil and hopefully start producing other models in the future. Right now Mexico is the only Latin American country to produce RIM phones.
