Backup Assistant from Verizon Wireless Now Available for BlackBerry Tour Users

Verizon Wireless’s Backup Assistant has always been available to Verizon customers except for BlackBerry users.  Well today Verizon has made it available for BlackBerry Tour 9630 users. Hopefully other device owners will be able to get this soon.

This is pretty big for Verizon customers as it gives you another way to backup your contacts so that you can make sure that you will never lose them say during an OS update or during a device failure.  I have been waiting for this to be available for us Verizon BlackBerry users. I don’t know why only BlackBerry Tour users are the only ones able to get this feature right now, but maybe Verizon wanted to make Tour users feel special today.  Verizon BlackBerry Tour users have had a big day so far, with an OS update release, Push to Talk, and now Backup Assistant being made available.

Check back to find out when it will be available for other Verizon BlackBerry owners.

To get backup assistant on your Blackberry if you don’t have it already, open your browser on your phone and go to start.vzw.com. The “BUA” icon is on the lower right hand side.

It seems to be a mystery to Verizon because they can’t put that information on their website. You go round and round in circles when you search for something about backup assistant.

WOW! The Verizon site is still awful. I just got my new iPhone in the mail, and I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my Blackberry did not have BUA on it, and why Verizon did not have any instructions whatsoever on where to find it… Thanks for the post!
