BlackBerry Mobile Issues a Statement Regarding the BlackBerry Display Separation Issues

I am sure by now most of you have seen the JerryRigsEverything BlackBerry KEYone video. In this video the BlackBerry KEYone gets taken through a durability test. When the BlackBerry KEYone got to the ‘Bend Test’, it didn’t really fair very well.  The Screen of the BlackBerry KEYone came out pretty easily due to what JerryRigsEverything claims to be because of lack of use of adhesive glue to hold the screen down.  This has been causing quite a scare with current and future BlackBerry KEYone users. Well BlackBerry Mobile has taken noticed and they have given a statement to CrackBerry Surrounding the issue.

BlackBerry Mobile Statement:

“TCL Communication has a long-standing track record of delivering high-quality devices to our customers around the world, and the BlackBerry KEYone is no different. To ensure the highest quality in the BlackBerry KEYone, we used strong, durable premium materials and conducted rigorous stress tests on the device throughout the product development cycle to meet the real life use standards our customers demand. While the BlackBerry KEYone is being met with great enthusiasm, we are aware of the concerns around potential display separation on the device. Out of the thousands of BlackBerry KEYone smartphones that have been shipped and sold globally, only a very small handful of customers have reported this kind of issue.

Our teams are actively examining additional adhesive measures that might further strengthen and eliminate any possibility of display separation occurring. If a customer does experience this however, they’re encouraged to contact us for a device warranty replacement.”

As stated in the statement from BlackBerry Mobile, the display separation issue seems to be effecting only a small amount of customers.  They are looking into additional adhesive measures that will help strengthen and take care of any issues that are being experienced.   If you do experience any issues, the BlackBerry Mobile encourages you to contact them for a warranty replacement.

It is great to see BlackBerry Mobile/TCL be so quick about provided a statement on the issue and letting us know they are aware of the issue and are looking into measures to make sure that the issue is taken care of.
