BlackBerry PRIV Update Build AAW068 Rolling Out to User

If you are a BlackBerry PRIV owner, you might have something interesting waiting for you in the Updates Settings.  There should be a new Software update waiting to be installed on your device.  This is pretty odd considering BlackBerry announced that there would be no more updates being pushed to BlackBerry PRIV devices unless there was a security issue discovered.

The update doesn’t change the security update month but it does introduce a new build number, AAW068. I have been checking my device all day and have yet to receive the update, but it should be out there. If you get an error message while trying to install the update follow the steps below to get the update to install.  Let us know if you see anything new as always!

Uninstall Google Play Services updates

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Apps
  3. Select Google Play Services
  4. Select the right top menu (three dots)
  5. Select Uninstall Updates
Note: If you receive the error “Can’t uninstall because this package is an active device administrator” follow these steps;
  1. Select MANAGE DEVICE ADMINISTRATORS. If MANAGE DEVICE ADMINISTRATORS does not appear, complete the following;
