BlackBerry Tour 9630 Fuel by Case-Mate is Now Available

BlackBerry-Tour-9630-FuelWe have always been big fans of the premium line of BlackBerry cases that Case-Mate provides.  They seem to be ahead of the curve when it comes to making cases and accessories that serve many purposes.  For instance I’m sure by now you have heard of the Fuel rechargeable battery pack for select BlackBerry phones.  Not only does it look good and protect your device, it will also extend your battery life so you never have to worry about charging when you’re on the go.  Fuel was previously only available for the BlackBerry 8900 and Bold 9000 but now Tour 9630 owners can get their hands on one.

Fuel is powered by a lithium polymer rechargeable battery that will extend your standard battery life by 2.5 times the normal amount.  Take a look at some of extra battery life features you get with the Fuel.

  • Talk time: up to 9 additional hours beyond standard BlackBerry Tour 9630 battery life
  • Stand by time: up to 250 additional hours beyond standard BlackBerry Tour 9630 battery life
  • Internet Use: up to 7 additional hours beyond standard BlackBerry Tour 9630 battery life
  • Video Playback: up to 8 additional hours beyond standard BlackBerry Tour 9630 battery life
  • Audio Playback: up to 24 additional hours beyond standard BlackBerry Tour 9630 battery life

The best thing about the Fuel rechargeable battery pack is you can use its power only when you want to.  There is a handy on/off switch that lets you save the Fuel for when you battery is almost out of juice.  You’ll also love the three color LED indicator light which shows you just how much extra fuel you have to work with.  Let’s face it we now live in a wireless world and with the Fuel by Case-Mate you can finally leave that old USB charger at home.

No, I think front and back contacts are equally bad. side contacts are the solution, along with a Fuel case that can accomodate “screen in” or “screen out” holstering. That should NOT be physically difficult, ideal would be if RIM would standardize their charging contacts across the family of devices. It's a total mish mosh.

Just too bad it works only screen out but that’s because RIM put the contacts in the back instead of the side like other models have.

but why woould you NOT want to recharge any time it is in holster? I can’t imagine a situation where I would ever want capacity in the holster versus in my Tour?

    From my BlackBerry Storm…

I actually prefer having my Berry show to the front I just make sure it is protected by a privacy screen. It would be cool if RIM somehow put contacts on the front and the back so we had the option to choose, maybe in the future?
