How to Load a New OS Onto your BlackBerry

Mobile Link

Recently I have been getting a lot of questions about how to load up BlackBerry OS onto your BlackBerry device. Now this is the process for when you have Microsoft Windows based computer. All you need to do is get the OS software from your carrier which is easily found on their site. You also need to have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on your machine. I didn’t do a device back up, but it is very wise that you do so with the back up feature on Desktop manager, unless you want to start from scratch like I like to do. The process is pretty simple and I try to show you how to do it. Sorry if the web cam window is a little distracting. Hope you find this useful. Enjoy!

This was not mentioned had me running in circles for 4 hours…

When installing ANY OS that is NOT from YOUR carrier it IS necessary to delete the Vendor.XML file (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader), otherwise, it will NOT install to the device.
