New Leaked Images of the KEY2 LE Show up Online

By now it is pretty well known that BlackBerry Mobile is getting ready to launch a lower end version of the BlackBerry KEY2. This device, tagged with the name BlackBerry KEY2 LE, has been slightly photo shy until now. The folks over at Android Police have gotten their hands on a photo of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE.  Now by looking at the picture, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE looks very close to the BlackBerry KEY2 that is currently on the market. What might not be the same is the specs of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE.

According to Android Police the BlackBerry KEY2 LE will have the specs listed below.

  • SoC: Snapdragon 636 (vs. 660)
  • RAM: 4GB (vs. 6GB)
  • Storage: 32/64GB (vs. 64GB)
  • Display: 4.5-inch 1080 x 1620 LCD (Same)
  • Battery: 3,000mAh (vs. 3,500mAh)
  • Camera: 13 + 5MP (vs. 12 + 12MP)
  • Measurements: 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm, 156g (vs. 151.4 x 71.8 x 8.5 mm, 168g)

What is not listed here is that the BlackBerry KEY2 LE will supposedly not have the capacitive keyboard that has appeared on every BlackBerry device since the BlackBerry Passport. Now, this might seem like a big feature to leave out but, I do know that there are a some BlackBerry KEYone and KEY2 users who actually turn this feature off.  Personally, I really love the capacitive portion of the BlackBerry Keyboard and use it a lot throughout the day.  It is a big feature on BlackBerry devices but if it is an area where BlackBerry Mobile can shave off some cost of the device then it kind of makes sense. What worries me more is the battery of the device. If BlackBerry Mobile wants to make sure that users of this device get the BlackBerry experience, then I hope they make sure the BlackBerry KEY2 LET can last through a users day.

Hopefully BlackBerry Mobile will shed more light on the device and we will be able to learn more. What do you think of the specs for the BlackBerry KEY2 LE? Let us know in the comments below!
