The BlackBerry KEY2 Survives JerryRigEverything’s Torture Test

When the BlackBerry KEYone first launched, it didn’t do too well during JerryRigsEverything torture test. If you remember the video, it was the first public example of the screen issues that plagued earlier versions of the BlackBerry KEYone.

If you aren’t familiar with JerryRigsEverything’s videos, JerryRig takes smartphones and puts them through a series of three tests.  The first test is a scratch test where Zack uses Mohs Picks of hardness to test the scratch durability of the screen. For the BlackBerry KEY2 it passed up level 6 with signs of deeper scratches at a level 7. The second test is a burn test. This is where Zack takes a lighter to the screen of the BlackBerry KEY2 and sees how quickly the screen burns.  The third test is the famous bend test to see how well the screen of the device is secured down.  This is the test where the BlackBerry KEYone didn’t do so well.  The good news is that the BlackBerry KEY2 passed the bend test with pretty good results.  I won’t spoil the rest of the video as it is a great video to watch but I can safely say the BlackBerry KEY2 is a very durable device.
