Yelp Releases Its New BlackBerry App

YelpYelp, your source for local reviews and business listings has launched its first BlackBerry application.  Yelp has been supporting local businesses since 2004 by offering the community a way to review what they like and dislike about the businesses in their area.  In the past BlackBerry users could only use the Yelp mobile website to submit and search for local listings and reviews.  Not anymore as the new application will offer all the features of the website and more.

The Yelp BlackBerry application uses location aware technology to pinpoint your location then automatically give you results for your area.  The app is pretty impressive because all you have to do is load it up and all your localized results are immediately available to you.  You can search for local bars, restaurants, and most local businesses and see how others in your area reviewed them.  Once you click on a listing you will get detailed results like business addresses, phone numbers, photos and website info.  The good thing about this app is it is much more than a source for local reviews it will also help you find local businesses by using its integrated Bing powered map.  Yelp is really built well for the mobile device as most people want to use it while they are out and not near a computer.

The Yelp BlackBerry app is available to those who live in the US, UK and Canada.  You can download Yelp by visiting from your mobile browser, look for the icon at the top of the page.
